This expanding mandrel comprises two components: a tapered arbor and a flexible sleeve. Typically, it's installed using an arbor press. By adjusting the sleeve along the arbor, various sizes within a range can be achieved. Mandrels from 1/2" to 7/8" use one sleeve, while those from 1" to 2" use two. The mandrels are hardened and ground for durability.
